Well deer season is winding down and it's been a few months since I've been in the shop. I was pretty anxious to get back out and let some wood chips fly. This particular call is my field grade Canarywood slate/glass with a woodburnt turkey feather to add a unique touch. This call has been shipped to Wisconsin.

Special Request Calls
NWTF Decorative Competition Calls
NWTF Decorative Competition Calls
In 2004, I started entering some of my work in the National Wild Turkey Federation's National Decorative Call Competition. I have since been very blessed to win several awards at this level. I have met many great friends and fellow callmakers along the way. It has been a great journey so far, and I hope to continue sharing my passion through my calls.
The Mountain Man call is exhibited in the NWTF museum in North Carolina.
I have been fortunate enough to be featured in one of Earl Mickel's books, "Longbeards, Callmakers, and Memories".
Hope you enjoy this snapshot of my work from past NWTF competitions!

Spalted Curly Maple
Spalted Curly Maple
This call was crafted from a very unique piece of spalted, curly Maple that was given to me by a close friend here in southern Indiana. The tree had fallen on a piece of his property. I have woodburnt and painted springtime treasures with a strutting gobbler head, primary wing feathers, and a Dogwood flower. This particular call is #336 and was crafted on 07/05/11. This call was sent to New York.
